The digital library.

The digital library, also known as the Internet is, well, a digital library that consists of huge quantities of content and information ranging from all genres. The Internet is like a separate virtual world, which it is. You can find many other people in virtual form, usually anonymous. So, why don't we try to learn more about this digital library?

Primarily, I would like to mention the history of the Internet. It was originally called ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network). It was the first-ever computer network, and led to the Internet we all know and love today. ARPANET was mainly used for research, transmitting, and receiving files or communicating between other research facilities. It was designed to operate even during a nuclear apocalypse. It was one of the first computer networks to use TCP/IP, which the modern Internet still uses.

From ARPANET, the Internet has evolved into a much better form, having domains, websites, and search engines. The first search engine was "Archie", created in 1990. From Archie, we have got Bing, Edge, Yahoo, and the most popular search engine; Google, which you definitely use, unless you are 90 years old. Search Engines have made it even easier to access content within the Internet, and can also be used to access websites, by using a specific URL (Uniform Resource Locator). These Websites have Web pages, which contain some random information, pictures, images, videos, or other sources of knowledge or entertainment.

From this, the Internet has evolved once again, which I like to call the "2000s" Internet because it was the most advanced at that time. This was mostly the age of memes. If you don't know what a meme is, then first, you're old, and second, a meme is a picture or video containing something that makes it funny or humorous. The Internet contained a lot of it at the time, in which you couldn't scroll 3 pages without seeing an Internet meme. In fact, there are memes now too, but they mostly suck because Gen Z took over. However, better than the memes, the main pillar of the Internet, the Michael Jordan of the Internet, a website known as "4chan". It was just a random social media website, right? No. 4chan consisted of memes, yes, but the people there are terrifying. 4chan has been known to casually dox people, ruining their lives, find locations of people with just the slightest bits of hints, and also get animal abusers doxxed and arrested. Mainly it was bad, though. 4chan has many times have been called to "love watching the world burn", which it definitely does. 4chan mainly just consists of trolls.

Fortunately, however, nowadays 4chan is kind of dead, so the Internet can cool for a while. Nowadays the comment section of videos is the new 4chan. They consist of stolen memes, unfunny jokes, repeated sentences, bots, or outright boring statements. The Internet is now mainly popular because of YouTube, YouTube shorts (The main battlefield of the comment section), memes, games, and blah blah blah.

With this, I would like to end this blog about the digital library.

goodbye fellow internet people
